Moto Guzzi Experience is the new great “tourist” program that the Mandello house offers its customers, old and new. Many events in the most beautiful regions of Italy (and Europe) to discover the wonders of these lands riding the entire Moto Guzzi range.
We have decided to test this tour (also he new Guzzi V855TT) and we have chosen to try the first weekend of Trentino, between the Alps, the Dolomites and some of the most famous passes in Italy together with Claudio Conte di Guida Sicura Urbana.
The tour begins on Thursday, in the splendid setting of the Pergine Castle (from the 12th century!), on the Tegazzo hill, not far from Trento. The view extends over the Brenta Dolomites and the mountains of the Valle dei Mocheni up to the blue of Lake Caldonazzo. The medieval structure is beautiful, like the ancient rooms (modern ones also available): it will be a real pleasure to spend the nights of the tour here. Outside waiting for us we find our beautiful V85TT that we requested. Other riders have chosen the V9 Roamer, the MGX-21 or the splendid timeless California, as the entire range is available to customers. Time to complete the formalities, eat (local products in a mix of tradition and reinterpretations, really everything excellent), we make fuel (included in the tour) and we go.
We follow our guide at a good pace towards the North. The weather is mild, the sun warms us and we rush to the first stop for a coffee in Cembra, with a splendid view of the homonymous valley crossed by the Avisio river. After a few kilometers (and about ten minutes on foot in nature) we arrive at the famous Pyramids of Segonzano (some of which reach 40 meters in height). We continue the state road along the valley, up to the small and suggestive Lake Stramentizzo, where we will have a short break. After the stop, we go up to the Pinè Plateau as far as Lago delle Piazze and then return to the hotel at Castel Pergine. A really good dinner awaits us, with a refined cuisine accompanied of course by excellent wines. A famous actor (and a biker) would say “what else!?”.
The next morning we wake up early, many kilometers are waiting for us, which I can’t wait to cover on the V85TT with which I’m having a lot of fun. The cold stings and the weather at altitude often changes quickly, so we cover ourselves very well.
Today the day is entirely dedicated to the “Pale Mountains“, the ancient name of the Dolomites, declared since 2009 by UNESCO “World Heritage”. There are 5 degrees and the sun comes and goes, so we move quickly north-east of Trento along the Val Sugana, then we climb the curves and bends of the Brocon Pass. Our pace is quick, the bike on a track and the curves really many, like the breathtaking views that appear one after the other, even for the still abundant snow that makes everything even more impressive. In the back down we take the Val Cismon keeping to our right the group of Pale di San Martino, crossing the splendid and renowned San Martino di Castrozza. And we go back to climbing, finally on the famous and always fascinating Passo Rolle, where obviously we stop to warm ourselves up and take more souvenir photos of the group and postcard scenery. the next stop is in Moena, for a restorative lunch, before facing Passo Pordoi, what a view! We begin to feel tired, but the descent through the Val di Fassa is just as beautiful: a wonderful day, a very fun motorbike.
Let’s go back to Castel Pergine to pamper us with the impeccable hospitality of the managers. The following morning we have to reluctantly return to Milan, but the Moto Guzzi Experience weekend continues until Sunday with the other most beautiful roads in Trentino Alto Adige scheduled around the Brenta massif, in Val di Non, in Madonna di Campiglio, on the Lake Garda and on the beautiful curves of Monte Bondone.
We had a lot of fun and above all we enjoyed the all-inclusive formula. The name Moto Guzzi Experience is perfect: you can choose the bike you want (especially if you plan to change it or take a new one), enjoy it and try it among the most beautiful curves in Italy, you don’t have to think about anything (lunches, dinners, turns, petrol …), in conclusion a wonderful experience even for those who do not have a motorcycle or maybe live far away and want to consider it a sort of Fly & Ride.
