Monte Zoncolan (the climb of the Kaiser) by motorbike in Friuli Venezia Giulia

Monte Zoncolan, the climb of the Kaiser, on motorbike between famous turns and scenic bends in Friuli Venezia Giulia.

Monte Zoncolan SP123 Friuli Venezia Giulia

A classic for motorbikers and all the bikers. Monte Zoncolan is well known among the fans of cycling with the nickname of  “Kaiser“, becuse the road is hard to face on bike.

The climb of Ovaro has difficult slopes and few turns, narrow and steep, interspersed with straight lines with an inclination of over 15%.

Our suggestion is to ride first the harder part starting from Ovaro, along SP123 direction Sutrio: this section is more difficult of the pass of Mortirolo or Colle delle Finestre. At the top you’ll enjoy a fantastic view of the entire Carnia: you can easily spot the Dolomitic Pesarine’ s peaks and at north most part of the carnica mountain chain.

Malga Pozof Monte Zoncolan SP123Please relax at Agriturismo Malga Pozof, immersed in nature and into traditional  typical products.

The side facing Sutrio is less difficult but not less attractive and full of bends and turns, a very pleasant trip for our motorbike!

Really close to Ovaro departs another amazing itinerary, from Ampezzo to Lozzo di Cadore passing Sauris’ lake.
