An itinerary on motorbike, immersed in wild nature, discovering the Appennino between Emilia and Liguria. The charm of the road passing Val D’Aveto.
In 1945, Hemingway arrived in Val d’Aveto as a war correspondent, coming from Chiavari through the pass of Forcella, heading to Piacenza, and he said these words: “I’ve just crossed the most beautiful valley in the world “.
VAL D’AVETO SP586
It doesn’t matter where you come from, Chiavari (GE) or Bobbio (PC), the Val d’Aveto gives you strong emotions at every section. You can ride it peacefully pushing down on the gas pedal when it’s not narrow. The road follows the river and, at the top, the landscapes are amazing, it seems to be in a canyon (like in the picture) and in summer it’s possible to bathe in the river. Foto © Valdaveto.net
The road connects Rezzoaglio with Marsaglia, south direction, 30 kilometres long north direction. We suggest to ride from Rezzoaglio, in direction Santo Stefano D’Aveto, along SP654, to stop in the little borgo and visit Castello Malaspina Doria.
