The popular Amalfi Coast route (SS 163 Amalfitana) is one of the most famous and amazing coastal drives in the world, called Nastro Azzurro. The coast starts from Vietri sul Mare, well known for the ceramics, and it ends in San Pietro, at the beginning of the Sorrentine Peninsula.
Few kilomeers from Amalfi there is Conca dei Marini, a picturesque and charming fishing village. The history of the borgo is closely related to the events of the ancient Maritime Republic of Amalf: the chronicles of the time report about a fleet of thirty large galleys for the transport of goods throughout the Mediterranean. It has typical houses in Mediterranean style with vaulted ceilings and whitewashed walls, balconies with beautiful flowers and a spectacular view over the sea. The terraces cultivated with lemons and tomatoes of “the piennolo”, the tranquility and the fresh sea breeze made Conca Marini the ideal “buen retiro” for lovers of discretion and quietness. In a calm atmosphere, apart from the traffic and the crowd, under high and scenic rocks, we suggest to eat at La Tonnarella.
